ABOUT LEARNED

Julianne's Photo

My name is Julianne Swanepoel. I am a fully registered practicing Specialist Education support teacher in Taranaki.

My entire working career has been in education. Initially my pathway began in pre-school and then in primary schools.

I then chose to specialise in Special Education and did Post Grad studies in Specialist Education with an endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorders through Massey University.

My journey has included completing courses in HANDLE® therapy (Holistic Approach to Neuro-Development & Learning Efficiency), RMTi® (Rhythmic Movement Training), the Tomatis® method and Interactive Metronome® therapy.

I am a Tomatis® (Auditory Integration) Consultant Level 3, a certified provider of Interactive Metronome and RMTi® (Primitive Reflex Integration).

I have created LearnED in order to fulfil my ambition to work more effectively to enhance learning and daily function of individuals both young and old! My goal is to enhance and improve the daily function of my clients.

My career in education began in South Africa working for the Education Department of Kwa Zulu Natal, predominantly in Early Childhood but also in Primary schools where I practiced both as a teacher and a school principal.

After a further ten years learning, living and working in Early Childhood Education in Botswana, I came to New Zealand in 2006. Here I continued to teach in primary schools until 2017.

During that time, I completed my further education in Specialist Education.

I then expanded my knowledge and expertise to include Tomatis® Practitioner training, Rhythmic Movement Integration® and became a provider of Interactive Metronome® therapy.
